Looking Ahead

Recovery continues: today I ventured outside to tackle the wilderness garden.

I planted some allium bulbs, which have been hanging around the house for some weeks. It seems terribly late, but I hope to salvage something from them. When I’d finished, my fingers felt as if they’d turned to steel!

The photographs were taken at Alnwick Castle Gardens last year. A wonderful place for ideas and inspiration!

Rescue Results

In January, I wrote about some forgotten hyacinth bulbs, rescued from a dark outhouse.

Now they’re lighting up the garden!

Step 1 – Tulips

In a little-read post (and I can’t blame anyone for that, as it was mainly a note to myself), I outlined Four Garden Plans. One of them was to plant some red tulips, for a burst of colour in the spring of 2017.

I bought two small packs of tulip bulbs, one red, one very dark purplish-black, and, in my usual haphazard way, planted them around the garden. Now I just have to wait, and try to identify step 2!
